Today I purchased a Glock (G4) G26....
I was eyeing a SU-16 some time ago. Never could find one. The SUB 2000 was hens teeth as well. Not too interested in a duty caliber carbine, but it was to serve a purpose, and it ran me across the SU-16, that I wanted pretty bad.Well I picked up an odd one on Saturday at a small local gun store. A lightly used KelTec SU-16A. I’ve often wanted to mess with one over the years. Just never would pay the price. Well the price was right. Called KelTec Monday about some issues I’d been reading about; and after they ran the serial number; offered for me to pay shipping and send it to them for a complete inspection and likely several significant updates that they would cover under Warranty. And they’d pay return shipping. Even though I bought it used. It’s in the mail today headed their way. The phone calls and Email correspondence this week with them was some of the best I’ve ever experienced in the firearm industry. Hope it’ll be back soon.
UPDATE:Yeah, a LOT, about double the original shipping, even though they waved it originally. Oh well, not going to pay them more for the same thing to happen, so I guess I get to be out of luck. I refuse to throw good money after bad, any more than this has already proven.
Still haven't had a reply for what they are going to do, so I just don't know.
It is PSA. Now before you get all antsy,,,,,,,,,,,,, I've done business with them for years, and this wasn't on them, just the solution, that I find unacceptable, and that is my choice. If they reconsider, I'll note it here. Just a full refund would be acceptable, at any point of this but they doubled down, and that isn't.
Sub 2000 Gen 2 and up is the way to go. I got the Gen 2 in 9mm.I was eyeing a SU-16 some time ago. Never could find one. The SUB 2000 was hens teeth as well. Not too interested in a duty caliber carbine, but it was to serve a purpose, and it ran me across the SU-16, that I wanted pretty bad.
I run across a SUB 2000 every now and again, but never a SU-16.
Congrats.
And the Government Shutdown slowed up the whole process! To be concluded!FfL and SOT received and transfer paperwork to ship to my dealer has started. Hopefully my SBS will be at the dealer next week? Then a quick certification and hopefully a short 4-6 day wait? If and i mean if I get it before my PA trip. Ill put in the paperwork with the ATF to take it with me. Probably won't have the shotgun in time or the paperwork won't be approved before I have too leave, but worth a try?
