That's where I'd start ! Try a new spring to begin with ! The old Martini Cadet and Henry's were notorious for the same problem. We used to stretch the spring ourselves! Rembering they were pre 1900 manufacture and a little forgiving to us butchers!

Don’t know how much you shoot or how many cycles the striker spring has on it but Glock springs usually last a long time. Like everything else they can wear out with repeated cycles but it usually takes a lot.

One other thing that can happen is the striker channel get fouled with junk. Or there can become problems with the trigger bar and striker block timing — or perhaps wear on the striker block plunger if it’s aftermarket.

I suspect it is the relationship between the trigger bar that pushes the striker block out of the way as the trigger is pulled rearward. Any drag would interrupt the striker action.

 

But what part is the "striker block"? Are you talking about the firing pin lug that engages the trigger cruciform?

 

The block is the round button in the slide that holds the firing pin from hitting the primer unless the trigger is pulled back. Another name for it is the firing pin safety.

 

The correct name is the firing pin safety.

Sorry for the confusion. Ya it’s the plunger in the slide that has to be moved out of the way by the trigger bar for the striker to drop. If that isn’t being pushed up far enough — however it happens — the striker won’t move forward and hit the cartridge primer.

Some install aftermarket trigger bars or plungers — these can wear or not move far enough to move the firing pin safety out of the way fully. Causing misfires.

The opposite can be true as well. Some types of aftermarket modifications—in an attempt to reduce take up — can move the firing pin safety out of position too soon or completely — causing a hazardous condition.

 

One way to test to see if the plunger is a problem after cleaning the striker channel, is to remove it temporarily and try it. If the problem goes away, you have to look at the striker block system for trouble.
