Hi all
I'm way behind the times I've just recently discovered polymer 80 building.
I know it varies state to state my state they are currently LEGAL to build and own .Before I try to do one my question is what's the concensus on carrying the Polymer80.
(assuming you have a conceal carry permit)
I've heard best not to because the no serial numbers on the weapon will always be an issue regardless of it being a legal weapon.
Thanks

For me I'm more concerned if there's an incident where you draw/fire the weapon and law enforcement gets involved what's the response going to be and how will it be handled by law enforcement having a homemade/kit 80% home built gun with no serial number assuming everything else you did is legal carry permit etc..

my concern more than reliability I'd run 50 rounds through it regardless. I'm more interested concerned with law enforcement reactions to the weapon you know does it get confiscated then legal battle lawyers lots of money spent

I’m 50/50 because just like not every has the skills to be an electrician. Not everyone can build a Poly 80.

Look at all the posts about problems with Poly 80 builds. On a new Glock people advise a 500 round break in. So if you can run 500 rounds thru your Poly 80 build then you are good to go.

Many cannot build a P80, this is a fact.

I just assembled another yesterday and wife function fired today. Having an issue with the upper, lower was fine after I swapped out some parts from the shop.
Notice the label on the bag! Connector was pure garbage.

I was late to the game with the Polymer 80 Pistol Frames ( having done mostly retro AR15/M16 builds with 80%ers over the years ) by the time I focused on them ( Pistol builds ) I was too late for the early first Gen variants and other brands offerings as when I got up to speed on the platform the Outright ban date loomed . I really wish I coulda built one Early First Gen Poly 80 or obscure wolf or other brand offering .

I would hesitate to daily carry one. I have others I enjoy carrying more than these. These were made just for SHTF bug out bag situations.

Side note,
I've recently ordered two DAGGER slides from Palmetto State. Both slides went on the P80's easily, cycled very nicely and I ran a hundred rounds of mixed ammo (Steel cased and Brass) through both frames and slides with no issues. The Dagger slide for a compact (G19) are very reasonably priced from PSA. $179 to $200, complete, when you catch them on sale. I'm waiting now, for PSA to start selling the full size slides. I've had issues with other aftermarket full size components' compatibility, etc.

I agree with you WarriorDog about not a daily carry

I'm not interested in having any issues or concerns even if minor. If and it's a big if I do a build I'd do it as a knock around gun for the farm for rattle snake, copper heads ,water moccasins, panthers, wild pigs. All the nasty critters that want to get ya. And also if the Polymer80 get nicked up or dings etc that what it's for. Save my others for carrying all pretty and nice. I've done 3 FMK striped frame builds they come with serial numbers from factory need to go though FFL .

They are on glock platform. All the builds run great .357 sig, 9mm .40 caliber
