Are you sure you are not overfilling the mag? How many rounds are you loading?

 

10 or 15 round? Usually a 10 round issue. Seat 10 at slide lock, for the 15's it doesn't matter. I assume this is a brand new Gen 3 or Gen 4?

 

Gen 4 with a 15 magazine fully loaded. It may go in if I really slammed it, but I am reluctant to do that until I hear from the hive.

EDIT: Well, with a full mag, I did give it a little extra push and it did seat. It just seemed that it took a bit too much shoving to get it in place. I think I prefer the idea of 14 in the mag and one in the chute better.

 

I would contact Glock (If new) might be an issue (Hopefully) with magazine.

I think it's mainly a new Glock owner, unfamiliar with the feel of how Glock 19 models are. Getting someone else who's more familiar with the G19 platform to feel how it loads, plus, being able to feel how other G19 models are, also using fully loaded G19 mags will take the anxieties away.

There are some who will advise downloading the mags by 1 (or even 2 rounds) to alleviate the possibility of trying to load a mag, only to have it not fully seat and fall out. See minute ~8:45 here: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7ViI2UWFKg[/ame]

I personally use the max capacity of 15+1 with a full G19 or G17 mag for a reload. I'm accustomed to inserting a fresh mag hard, with a quick downward pull to ensure that mag got locked in. I'm typically shooting to slide lock back where a full mag being inserted is typically not a problem.

As this is my first Glock that has been internally polished to mirror shine and Ghosted to get the trigger to where I like it vs. the less than stellar Gen 4 trigger as compared to the Gen 3's, the only potential issue was the full mag loading. I suspect I was just being too careful and not wanting to put too much pressure on it to seat the thing.

The video was very helpful, showing me that even some of the "big boys" hold off on the last round in.

 

New magazines as well as the guns also go thru a break-in period. Usually they will slowly loosen up by use alone just a bit. It maybe also be that your paticular gun has a rather "close tolerances" type of thing going on.

In any case things should get better without having to revert to going to Glock themselves.

A Glock with a full magazine WILL be difficult to near impossible to seat. The reason is because the expectation is you will seat the magazine with the slide locked back, then release it to chamber the first round.
While YOU CAN seat a fully loaded mag, it will feel pretty nigh impossible without a major slap on the butt!

My guns of multiple manufactures have no problem at all with seating a full magazine with the slide locked in battery.
It's a conditioning thing with the gun...magazine...and shooter.

My opinion only.
