Straight swap my G45 non-MOS for a G17.5 MOS. Yes or no? Why?

Personally, I'd keep the 45 and have the slide milled. (1) The 45 happens to be tied with the 26 as my favorite model and (2) I'm not crazy about any mounting system that uses spacers, adapters ect.

I agree with Rock. Keep the G45 and get it milled at Jagerwerks. The optic sits lower and looks better imo.

thanks! I’m honestly not a huge optics guy but I felt like maybe at some point I’d try it out. Good to know about milling it instead.
Milling is nice but the MOS is already done by the factory.
I’d probably trade but I like the 17 and 45 about the same.
I just got a Glock 17.5 and want to put the Holosun SCS MOS as it’s low into the slide you can keep the factory sights and it doesn’t need plates.

Agreed and you depending on your optic choice won't need to add suppressor height sights into putting a optic on the gun.

G45, imho. I have the 17 & 19. I don’t see much of a difference in accuracy between them in my hands anyway. I also often carry a g19 with a 17 mag & xgrip sleeve. Which is basically a ghetto g45.

Viridian, Crimson Trace, Leupold, Trijicon, Burris (Beretta) made in the USA. I agree with not supporting the CCP defense industry. It's hard to find anything not made in China, but my philosophy is do what you can to avoid it. Especially Holosun and Swampfox.

There's a lot of hype surrounding red dots if you ask me. They all work fine. Lately I have been buying Viridian green dots. I dont need solar cells and I dont mind changing the battery once every year or two. I have an older Burris Fastfire II that is pretty basic. No fancy features and just a simple on-off button. I put it on a G34. I just changed the first battery. It's 4-5 years old.

I have that exact setup. 17.5 with Holosun SCS. It fits flush with no adapter. I love it.

I’d trade. G17.5 MOS is more desirable to me. YMMV.

Keep the non MOS G45 and buy another G45 in MOS.

That is what I did. I usually carry my MOS G45 with optic but I still sometimes carry my non MOS G45. I still enjoy shooting with the ironsights.

I'd opt for MOS over milling any day of the week. I've been gradually replacing my Gen 1-3 Glocks with newer models and MOS is mandatory. I dont always mount an optic but I want that option.
I’d make the trade and if you want a dot get a Holosun SCS and save your slide milling $.
Here is another choice. Keep the G45 and install one of these.
