Before the Glock my fav was the Ruger GP. I don't know if Glock is my favorite now but it's definitely got its own shelf in the safe. I rarely carry anything besides a glock of some sort.
For me it was, and in many ways still is the 1911. I currently have 6. 4 Springfields, a Colt, and a Kimber. There is something about the quality of a nice 1911. But for when it come to defense the Glock is without question the best there is.
A Colt Mk IV Series 70 that I bought around 1977, put many thousands of rounds through, and still own. But these days I shoot Glocks pretty much exclusively.
My favorite with out a doubt is my Desert Eagle mark XIX .50ae. All so the first gun/pistol I bought. With just the change of the barrel, mag, and bolt assembly I can shoot .357 mag, .41 mag, .44 mag or .50ae. I know a lot of firearm owners despise of the Desert Eagle but its just an awesome firearm to fire an own.
I'm sure I will love the glock 21 that I'm getting next month but I don't think a .45 acp round will compare to the feeling of letting a couple of .50ae rounds off. Since the .50ae has 60% more energy then a .44 mag. Maybe a S&W 500 or a LMG will be a better feeling lol .
