I tested them rounds on critters, shot a few raccoons and not a single one expanded. They were hot rounds for sure but a post shooting slice open showed no expansion at all.

Maybe I got a bad batch of projectiles. But my guess is these rounds are just hollowed point bullets and were not designed to expand, just got the look. I wouldnt trust them at all. Only 115 JHPs I have right now are 9BPLE and S&B POLICE. Both have the same velocity and both make a huge mess on any critter shot with them. The 9BPLE also is one the best police rounds in actual shootings. I would trust either one to work great for me....

Oh i see... Well, these are the cheapest JHP i could find here and was labelled "Sport JHP" so i guess that's why. Have not had the chance to test these rounds yet though but thanks for your field report on this. Much appreciated!

Good video on handgun gunshot wounds from a lecture given by a doctor to a group of medical students.

180 grain is easy to deal with in 40 cal. I find for me it has less felt recoil than lighter bullets. Also Blazer 40 cal 180 grain is the ballistic equivalant of Ranger 40 cal 180 grain bonded JHP which is my carry load in my 23C.

In my duty gun I use Winchester 9mm 127 grain T series +P+. Not because I feel it is the best choice but because that is what I'm issued.

If you want alot of good information on the Winchester Ranger line then you can download their LE catalog here...
