It is pretty sweet. Way above my normal Glock level. Very accurate and nice trigger. It’s a range and BBQ gun for now. This is the P model.

First time I’ve seen that slide porting. Very nice.
Assuming 9mm?
It’d be nice if the Texas Suppressor law went into effect! That threaded barrel would come in handy.

Scored some 9mm and .223 ammo and Wheeler Engineering rifle/scope View attachment 259554 level kit at the Kirkland BX.
is that critical defense brass cased or nickel plated? I know hornady stopped using nickel plating because of the supply chain issues but was wondering if they started back, i bought 3 boxes of critical defense and they are all brass cased without the nickel

I thought the Critical Duty was nickel cased and Critical Defense was brass cased from day one but my memory could be off.

Your right about critical defense being brass. My dad has a .460 CD round in his garage. It’s been there for years. It just brass cased. I’ll grab a pick next time I’m there. They must have changed defense to nickel plated brass.

It’s been awhile. I was working at the gun store when they introduced the Critical Defense.
I’d say the Critical line was our best selling “hollow point” ammo.
Mainly because it was the least expensive and abundant.
Gold Dot was my most requested especially by LE agencies but it was always hard to come by and around double the price of the competition.
GT Distributors and other big volume LE specialists outbid us but they had special pricing from the manufacturers.

hornady stopped nickel plating this year due to supply chain issues, in may they put out a statement and said in 6 months they would re evaluate the supply issue
Looks like they went nickel at least as far back as 2016 I’m seeing.
I’ll need to look at my boxes at home.

You beat me to it. Sorry for the redundant post above.

Side note my uncle likes .460 so much he had a hornady critical defense round tattooed on the inside of his arm many years ago. The tattoo image is of brass cased defense .460 round.

Not sure if its much of a difference, i liked the nickel plated because it doesnt tarnish or corrode, just swapped to the brass cased yesterday to rotate out my older nickel plated case that ive been carrying for about a year and we will see how it holds up, fwiw i put 40 rds of the brass cased hornady critical defense through my 43x yesterday with no issues

Saw they rolled out Critical Defense in 2009. I got in sales in 2012. So I guess it must’ve been a marketing push or something that I’m misremembering.
Alzheimers or Sometimers?😬
Don't feel bad you are not the only one.
