With the pistols I have now, 25 yards & closer. In the mid 1980's I used to shoot steel silhouette matches with a S&W Model 29-3, 10 5/8 barrel, adjustable rear sight for windage, & a 4 position adjustable front sight for pre set elevations. 50,100,150, & 200 yards. Hunting pistols. I wish I'd kept that gun, great shooter. Here's a pic of one like it. You rotated the wheel on the front sight for 50 yd increases, or reductions.
