Like the 500 that came in the bear survival kits?
No that was just under 3” I believe. I’ve got the 4” or 5” with compensator.
Evidently it’s one of the guns I don’t have a picture of.😲

I’m pretty sure mine’s the same as this one.

I shot the 3” bear survival kit one, exactly one time. My hands shook for the next several hours.

The sad thing is, if I was in that room when a break in happened, I’d probably end up dead cause I couldn’t decide which gun would be the coolest one to use

I've never shot an M3 myself but when I enlist in the Corps in 68 there were still some WWII Marines around and according to them the M3's rusted at the mere mention of water, were slightly less accurate than throwing rocks, and jammed if a fly took a dump on the action. Their only redeeming factor was that they made halfway decent clubs.

So you feel the same about the M3 as I feel about Cowboy Guns ( Both Real Historic & Modern) lol

Liked them or were issued them? There's a difference.
None of the tankers I saw or met in the Nam had them but admittedly I wasn't in armor so I can't say definitely. Most of the tankers I met, if they could get one, preferred a CAR-15 Colt Commando, which is also what my brother carried as a medic in the 173d, or a 12 gauge riot gun and all carried 1911s.
Since I wasn't a grunt and spent all my time at China Beach I had a 1911 and an M14.

You mean XM177E1 0r E2 ? ( Those were only available in any significant numbers in Nam after mid 60s Introduction of the Variants ) APC Drivers & Tankers & Vehicle guys in 63-66 Timeframes had fewer choices and M3 was an obvious one

Question here , (Why is it that a Modern Day Marine can do Boot Camp ,two hitches with one or two Combat Deployments and not get Handgun Training or be issued a Sidearm ??? ) I don't understand how Army & Marine Combat Duty Deployed Troops & Marines are not Given , Issued , or Trained up on Sidearms ?????

I got to Nam in 1970 so can't speak to what was or wasn't available before then.

Don't have any answers to your questions. I got out in 71 and haven't kept up with what kind of training the Army or Marine Corps is conducting.
Were you recently in the Army or Marine Corps? If so what kind of training are they doing these days?

A close friend owns a commercial construction company. Their primary industry is building banks. His gun room has an actual bank vault door similar to this photo. The toys he has is incredible.

🧐 hmmm…You’d think a KSG 12 and a Kimber 1911 would be in that safe.
