Have been using a CLP (FP10) since it was deemed the " preferred" product for cleaning the issued weapon. Before that I used Breakfree on everything (also a CLP). I guess what I'm saying is, I have never used one product to clean, and one to lubricate and protect....do I need to rethink my post-range protocol?
No, but I think a good test for you would be next time you shoot, clean with clp as you normally do. Then next day sop the bore with hoppes and let it sit 15 min. I think you will find there is a ton of black crap that will come out. I did this and now use clp for quicky cleaning, but hoppes if I'm serious about a deep clean

I've used Ballistol and like it. Use CLP as well and like it. I think way too much is put into brand than purpose.
Try and compare. See what you see as a difference for your needs and pick it. You won't be wrong no matter which you choose unless your in weather below -40.
