Howdy Y'all. Enough of the niceties, this here is business.

Contact your state senators to support House Bill 1927. Passed by the House already, killed by Patrick, and now revived, probably after a proper amount of hate mail. Hit them both up, and pound their inboxes and voice mail. Be nice, courteous and don't screw it up like some probably well intended lobbyists did a few years ago. Just tell them to support it.
This one is going to Comity on Thursday (tomorrow) and is supposed to be the only thing on the docket. It could be a full plate, and probably will. The same old "blood in the streets", "officers killed", "dead children", and the whole gamut they pulled out for CHL, and later, Open Carry is sure to be in full display. Of course, none of these has come to light in over 20 years.
Here is a link to find your representatives Who Represents Me
There is a second bill, Senate Bill 2224, that is full of loopholes, and rat traps. This one should not be supported, and isn't up for discussion, yet.
Time to put up or shut up. We have never been this close or had this meaningful a push.

What if we don't support it ? Who should we call ? Too many goofballs already carry without permits, don't want to give the rest of them an excuse to say it is OK. If you want to carry....get an LTC !

That would be your choice as well. Use the same link and find out.
You'll survive, just like everyone else.

The problem is:
1) As you mentioned, the criminals and goofballs will continue to carry without a license. They don’t care what the law says. So, it is really a regulation ONLY for law abiding citizens.
2) God and the Constitution gave us the right to carry and protect ourselves. So, now the Government is taking our rights away and selling them back to us in a form of a license.

Along that line of thought,I reside in a state that has always had Constitutional carry, even before it was a state or there was a United States.
There has never been blood flowing in it's lanes and dells, what there has been is the ability for one to defend ones life, liberty and all under ones natural right to do so. It just works

Time to start pounding in boxes. House Bill 1927 was voted 5-1 to go to the Senate for a vote. The timing is "next week", but I haven't heard a day. Either way it gives several chances to call offices and send email.
Remember, be polite and cordial. We want this to happen, but being a tard isn't going to help anyone.
Go get 'em!

Extremists threatened Legislators 2 years ago and that’s what doomed it. A lot of people trying the carrot this time. They are putting in an amendment for tougher sentences on felons illegally carrying to sway law enforcement to at least stand down instead of opposing the bill.
Supposedly it’s also going to provide for free LTC permits for reciprocity with other states!

A bump to keep this in front of our Texas members. Please keep your contacts in front of Patrick and your Senator.
Don't let off the gas now, they are feeling the heat. Keep it going! Give them an overwhelming message when they go back to work Monday.

The Senate reconvenes at !0AM tomorrow. Fill those inboxes and voice mail boxes.
Keep this in their face (politely) and let them know we aren't going anywhere.

This may well be the last entry on this, but there is still time to hit inboxes and voice mail.
Cheers

OK, this is the best I can come up with from the explanation I got.
18 for, 13 against. A few amendments, one kinda shady IMHO, but for now it is passing.
We have to wait 3 days and vote again, the third and final, unless it is waived, and that probably won't happen.
SO,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Keep those emails and phone calls going. It was pretty much party lines, so keep the heat on.
If someone has better, please explain it to all of us.
Y'all made this go this far, so make the effort to keep it going.

Well for those keeping up, they waived the 3 day rule and are on the 3rd reading right now. This may take a while.

Just passed 3rd reading. Needs to be approved by the House since amendments were added.
Then, on to the governors desk. Office of the Texas Governor | Greg Abbott
Keep it gong. We have been the reason for this. Paxton said the votes weren't there, but the voices made the difference.
