If you waited all this time for one of the slim line Glock .380 and 9mm single-stacks to hit the market, but miss the tactical weapons light you had on your other platforms, Pennsylvania-based Streamlight has you covered.

Introduced this week is the TLR-6, what the company is calling an "ultra-compact" lightweight combination illuminator light and red aiming laser-- the first of its kind meant for a sub-compact pistol as thin as the Glock 42/43.

"The TLR-6 is a real game changer, the first product of its kind in an emerging category to combine a light and laser in one super-compact package that is designed for Glock 42/43 sub-compact pistols," said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah in an email to Glock Forum.

Sharrah feels that the combo light has both day and night applications for those who intend to outfit their Glock in a variety of home defense and tactical applications.

"Home defense and other tactical users can benefit from its ability to provide targeted bright light down range, as well as its powerful red aiming laser. The light is designed to quickly and securely attach to the trigger guard of the Glock 42 or 43. It also can be stored on these guns so users can more readily identify a potential threat before taking any action," said Sharrah.

Designed to fit on the trigger guard of either the 42 or 43, the light is crafted from durable, impact-resistant engineering polymer. As Glock spent years trimming the weight of these guns down, the TLR-6 does its best not to spoil that, tipping the scales at just 1.27 ounces including the weight of its two 3 Volt CR-1/3N lithium coin batteries (included). For reference, that's about the weight of $1.25 worth of U.S. quarters.

Overall length? 2.3 inches, enabling it to nestle under the frame's dustcover.

Using C4 LED technology, the 100 lumen light brings some 2,000 candela to the party and features three lighting modes: LED Only, LED/Laser, and Laser Only, with operating run times of one hour for the LED Only or LED/Laser modes, and 11 hours for the Laser-Only mode.

Its 640-660 nm visible red laser stays sighted in due to an innovative battery door that allows swapping out for fresh coin batteries while the light package remains mounted on the gun.

Further, you don't have to worry about the weather with this hard-charging weapons light if you chose to take it on the road, as its rated for -20F to +120F temperatures, is water resistant and impact resistant to one meter.

Protected by a lifetime warranty, the retail on the light is $175, but shop around and you can likely cut that down a good bit.
