Standardizing on Glock 9mm

I am wanting to standardize on Glock 9mm for my carry and home defense purposes, mainly for the mag compatibility. I have the 19X for home and sometimes carry, but want something just a bit smaller for EDC. I believe my choices are the Glock 26 and the Glock 19. I can get the MOS version for the 19. I can also get the slide milled for a red dot for the 26, at extra expense.

What opinions do you guys have on my idea? Which gun is more shootable? Accurate? Easier to EDC? Better all around gun?

Thanks,
Joe

I’m a big fan of the G26 but the 19 is easier to shoot well and it’s about as easy to conceal as the 26.

I carry a G19 or 23 most every day and don’t find the weight or size to be an issue.

If I could only have one Glock it would be either. 19 or 23.

That doesn’t stop me from wanting a 26 as well though. :geek:

I have both (G19 and G26), and I am of the opinion that both serve their purpose. So get both. But if you are only getting one, I would go with the Glock 19.
I love my G45 and G17. I love my G26. The Glock 19 sits well in the middle and it can do everything well.

G19 is going to be the most stable and I think carry the best. It will give you more velocity, more to hang on to, and more to send off with love. Many claim to do well with a G26, but it ain't for me and I can't get rid of the one I have without giving it away. It hasn't left the safe in 8 years, and not much daylight since I bought it.
Leave all that other stuff for range day. For carry, KISS is best.
Anything on the gun that can go wrong will in a critical situation where everything has already gone wrong, because Murphy has a sense of humor.

26 may or may not work with your hand. The 19 is much more comfortable for me. You could always add a 17 or 19 mag with a sleeve onto the 26 so you can tailor it for deep concealment or higher capacity with a simple switching of mags.

I EDC a G26 and shoot it better than my other Glocks. G26 doesn't work for everyone. Nothing wrong with standardizing on 9mm

My second caliber of choice is 45ACP.

I never carried a 9mm on duty until this year.
All these years it’s been mostly .45ACP or .357Sig.
With those calibers still at stupid prices I made the jump to 9 from .40 or .357Sig depending which gun I was going to wear.

The places I work, it should be sufficient. I’ve got a shotgun or AR if I think I’m working in a sketchy place.
State of Texas still hasn’t caught up with the times. I’m still barred from carrying a backup gun.🙄
I’m currently only certified to carry a shotgun. I’m trying to get my AR cert on my next mandatory qualification.

Exactly. Working next to Ft. Worth city hall during the BLM Protests made me think that adding body armor and a long gun could come in handy.
who knows what idiocy awaits us this coming Presidential election and after.

I’ve got an old out of date level 3 vest but I’m looking for level IV plates at the moment. Looking at the lightweight UHMWPE plates.

If I find a deal on a ceramic I might go that route. I want to stay under 5 pounds a plate.

If I'm carrying 9MM I carry at least 50. I'm just private citizen.
I learned to not like 9MM very much. The instant gratification just wasn't there.

I’ve got an Azula double mag carrier that I like but that is almost overkill for Podunk Arkansas.

I ordered a single mag pancake style carrier from TT Gunleather last week that should fit the bill fine unless I have to go to Little Rock or the like for some reason.
