Detonics has fallen low enough to be cheaper than Bersa?

    Wow!

I don't believe that's a Detonics she's holding. (And good or bad, Detonics have unfortunately never been cheap.) I hadn't seen a close-up of her gun before, but the small trigger guard makes me think it's a single-action, along the lines of a Bryco or similar.

I know it had always been that way before.

Not familiar with them now though, thought by the comment maybe someone bought the name and went really cheap which would be a huge drop since bersa is a cheap gun.

So it turns out the pistol was supposedly inoperable at the time she brandished it.
Mr. McCloskey had the pistol as a court exhibit in a case against the manufacturer.

Huh. Looks like it actually is a Bryco. Completely lucky guess.

John gets the credit! Bryco .380 no doubt.

As an aside, we had an armed robbery of a supermarket in the early 2000’s. Bad guy goes up to the manager sitting in an elevated open office at the front of the store. Pulls out a pistol, takes a magazine from his pocket, loads the gun and the recoil spring assembly somehow comes out of the gun. The manager complied and handed over the money, after all there was still a round in the chamber. I identified the spring coming from a Bryco .380.
Bad guy was eventually caught a few hundred miles away after committing another armed robbery and leading law enforcement on a vehicle chase and gun battle.

I’ve only seen them used. If I remember it was $300 max.

So what do you all think about the optics of two people pointing their guns at others? Will it reflect in a good way or bad way toward gun owners in general.

Initially I thought it was terrible but then the details emerged despite the media spin. A gate was knocked down to gain access to their private property. The McCloskeys said they were threatened by the angry mob, some even brandishing weapons. It’s always easy to Monday morning quarterback but you have to take in the totality of the circumstances.

I do think I would’ve retrieved weapons but probably would’ve remained inside the house while calling 911.

The media was trying to infer their narrative to project guilt on the couple which fell apart luckily because the victims were skilled attorneys themselves.

Ultimately they were protecting their lives and property with firearms as intended. The mob moved on and no one was injured.

Sadly they reside in an area presided over by a despotic social justice warrior prosecutor. She’s incensed that this couple would “intimidate” these peaceful protestors that were merely trying to find the mayor’s house.

It looks like they will be indicted but where it goes after may be interesting.
