Detailing a new CMMG Banshee after the first 100 rounds I found a thin metal ring around the firing pin tail, right behind the shoulder. It looked like a metal shaving but was circular in shape. It fell off easily. Anyone seen this in a CMMG or any type AR?

It's a sad fact that although a company may produce a quality product? At the end of the day there are always variables due to mass production that there will be small mishaps that escape quality control! I don't think that any thing can be blamed!

Yeah I thought no harm no foul. A good reminder though to detail a newly bought firearm, new or used. If left alone that shaving would probably break at some point and could be pushed into the firing pin channel or get caught in the bolt carrier. I think I’ll do a review of this braced “pistol”.

It's a wise decision! 99 times out of 100 There will be nothing amiss with a quality grade new fire arm but..... As for second hand firearms? You don't know the history! It pays to strip em down and go through every part
