All of the conspiracy theory sites and the particularly anti-gov't sites are making a huge deal out of nothing. I've posted several times in response to the DHS contract. I have little problem saying that these same types of purchases have gone on for years, in these quantities, but no one was looking because it was a Republican in the White House, or they were and it didn't get spread as far and wide on the Internet. People need to remember that these agencies train with their carry ammo, unlike us poor civilians who have to train with FMJ because we can't afford to just shoot JHP. Of course, with the quantity involved, they're probably paying for JHP about what we'd pay for FMJ.
It also drives me nuts how these conspiracy theorists harp on how the evil hollow points are designed to do "maximum damage to the human body upon entry".
Apparently, they don't have a problem with
us having JHPs, just the gov't.
