I have a gen 2 G19 that I have used as an EDC weopon for over 10 years. It has had over 10,000 rounds thru it in that time and has considerable holster wear at the front of the slide. What would be the best option for refinishing the slide to provide the same level of protection from rust as the newer models with the tenifer finish?
Does Glock refinish at the plant in Smyrna?
Thanks for any advice as I am really tiring of having to wipe my slide down with oil to remove the surface rust at the wear areas. It may be cheaper to just sell this one and get a newer gen 3 or 4.

I believe you can send it I'm to glock and they'll refinish it for around $40. No experience with it myself, but I've seen others mention this. Also, I believe tennifer I'd actually a hardening process done to the metal and not the actual finish.

Another option is durakote or cerakote. A different type of finish, but durable, and there are many color options.
