Hello Glock Forum, I just picked up my first handgun today at 1:38pm and it is a Glock 26. I picked this out of my three I had finally narrowed my options down to. The three were Glock 26, Springfield XDM Compact, and S&W-M&P Compact. So I am very happy. So I saw a YouTube video where a guy had tritium sights on his 27, and was wondering what are the best sights for my new gadget? Where to get them? And would like to see picture of any other custom options out there for it. Oh and best CCW holster for it? Here it is, I am very excited.
Dslmac2, WELCOME to the forum, and congratulations on your new baby! As a fellow G26 owner, let me tell you this: ignore them when they say the 9mm is not good enough for SHTF! I see you have grip extension on the inserted magazine....did you get it this way or did you add this? *Helpful hint: post a *Hi there* in introductions categiry, so everyone else has a chance to say Hi back at ya!
Thank You. I did get it like this. It was a guys EDC and he did not shoot it much. Even the gunsmith opened it all up for me and showed me where it would burn, and the parts that would rub from the slide. It fit my first purchase, got everything in picture for $425
Good job on your purchase! (now, I'm about to make you feel bad...) I got my G26 brand new NIB at a local outfitters. Saw it on display, handled it, decided I wanted it, asked what came with it (case, brush, 2 mags, lock, loader, etc), told salesman I wanted to buy it. He goes in back, then comes back with sales manager, apologizing that the price marked was wrong. I simply say "Price Tag Law". Got it for $275. I have since added 3.5# connector, and polished the internals, and Pearce +2 grip extensions on the mags (gives a pinky rest, like on your mag, but adds 2 to the magazine capacity). I have recently added G17 magazines to the mix, with XGrip extensions, for a total of 17 in the mag and 1 in the pipe. (See my thread here on the Forum here: https://www.glockforum.com/forum/f11/opinions-extended-mag-adapters-1003/ ) And I plan on adding chrome extended slide release, chrome extended slide stop and an extended magazine release. Oh, and painted the engravings on slide and barrel, too
Nice happysniper1, can I see the painted engravings? What color? Where is the best place to get the extended mag and slide release?
@Dslmac2: Here ya go! https://www.glockforum.com/forum/f16/painted-letter-thread-lets-see-them-837/ As noted in the thread, I used Arctic White nail polish (from my daughters' kit). RE: extended mag release and slide release, I haven't gotten them yet, but others have. You may want to keep an eye on this thread: https://www.glockforum.com/forum/f28/extended-mag-release-5-49-shipped-lower-48-a-936/
Nice choice, your going to be very happy with it. As far as a good IWB holster, I highly recommend the Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe. There are similar holsters out there that look just like it but I've never tried them, so cannot speak for them (I'm sure others who have tried both can). I can tell you that I wear the CBST 15-16 hours a day 7 days a week and don't even know its there.
I carry a 27 and use a remora.. I just bought a crossbreed supertuck suggested above and used it about a strait 16hrs and worked great can't go wrong with it just a little more pricey but for edc spring for it
Congrats on the G26. Highly recommend Vickers Tactical extended slide lock lever and mag release. Easy to switch out yourself and reasonably priced. GAP mag plates are also worth a look too.
I don't know if they are the best but there is a ebay vendor that sells tritium tru glo sights for 50.00 shipped. By far the best price I have seen, I purchased a set this weekend and should have today or tomorrow.
Good for you! Say, what holster do you use or plan to use? Only reason I ask is I am curious about your rather tall sights.... I am told Crossbreed Supertuck is a good brand for IWB, have just ordered mine. Normally I carry OWB but covered in a Blackhawk Serpa. (*PS* I blame Kodiak for convincing me to try the CBST! ) And finally, what kind of grip extensions are you getting for the extra mags?
Hey Happysniper1 Yes I will just have to test the Holster out with these rather tall sights. That was something I did think about. I ordered a Parker Holster, as my first. I have heard good things. I is similar to the Crosssbreed, but $40 not $120. I just need get use to wearing something. And this will be a good test. I like the MePro sights if these Advantage are to larger. I have the Pearson grip +3 and a +0 for the grips. I actually liked shooting it without the extension, so I may carry without them and it makes it shorter. Those are my current thoughts anyway.
TruGlo TFO! Just put them on my 26 and 19 and absolutely love them. Will attempt to post a pic... Pic doesn't do the front sight justice but you'll get the idea. Congrats and welcome!
Got my Parker Holster in the mail today. Very excited. AND it seems to fit and work good with my also new Advantage Tactical sights.
