Sick of Politics: Who Carries a Glock 32.4?

I’m sick to death of the mess in this country, so let’s have fun.

For just over a year now, I’ve been carrying, and training with, my Glock 32.4. I bought it used because I was curious about the .357Sig round. I like it quite a bit, and the pistol handles well. I’m slightly slower at follow up shots than with my 19.5, but not by much.

Can’t make up my mind among the 19.5, 32.4 and 23.4. Just wondering what interested folks here have decided personally. Cheers!

I’ve embraced the 9 somewhat begrudgingly.
I love .357Sig and carried the 31 for years as a duty gun and the 33 as off duty gun.
I just recently went to the 34 as my main duty gun.
Not over performance but really just over cost of use.
I have some .357Sig duty and training ammo but to replenish it nowadays will just be expensive. 9mm is cheap and plentiful in training and duty ammo.
I’m not getting rid of my .357Sig pistols.

I had a G32, a G33 and a G23 with both barrels years ago. All I have now are 9mm, 45acp and 357 Magnum/38 Special.

Never been a fan of the 357 Sig. I don't thing a thing in the world is wrong with it, but never have liked shooting it, being around it when shot, or the price and one hit wonder of it all.
It ain't broke, so no real need to fix it, but the 147 has been topped on it for a while now with success, and to appease the heavy for caliber crowd.
I really don't care to be on the range with it.

During my LE career, I had ~15 years with the .40, before my department switched over to 9mm for ~my final 5 years. I still own and sometimes carry a G23gen3, but mainly carry a G19gen5 or G26gen3 or gen5.

During the Obama years when ammo became really hard-to-get I'd bought a G31gen3 (.357SIG), but later sold it off for lack of need or use. Even so, I probably gave it a good chance by shooting ~15,000 rounds through it, with one replacement frame due to frame rails breaking off.

I'll also sometimes carry one of my 1911s in .45ACP or a .38 Special revolver, but most of the time choose a 9mm Glock.

So, is the .357 Sig as hard on the 32.4 as some folks write?

As a LEO I was a 45 ACP guy but now in retirement and as a Senior Citizen I’m a 9mm fan with my Glock 19 Gen 3.

I started out with the G21 back in 1993. .45ACP was a close range fight stopper.
Me back then wouldn’t dream of carrying a 9mm pistol as a duty gun. I wasn’t really fond of .40 at that time.
The LE shootings made me a believer in .357Sig. I made the jump to it from.45.

Out of curiosity: If you like 357 Sig, have you thought about 10mm???

Similar question to you: I am guessing you have at least thought about 10mm. More likely, I am betting you have tested it out thoroughly. Why 357 Sig over 10mm?

I've got a gen 4 g32 I bought many years ago. I've bought & sold a gen 3 g34, g40, g21 and g19 (all gen 4s). The g32 stuck, with a .40 and 9mm conversion barrel I don't need anything else.
G19 was fine except for constant brass to the face which was a common problem at the time. Tried a few things but traded up to a g32 which NEVER put a single case to face, in any caliber.

I still love the .357sig round despite it's current cost. Fortunately I stacked it deep years ago and when my LGS dropped it they put it all on sale for half off, back when it was much cheaper than today. I made a low ball cash offer for the whole lot and wound up with two 50 cal cans of a mix of various fmj range loads and various SD loads. I've used more 9mm and .40 for training/range use since but no plans to abandon .357sig.

G32 with a few conversion barrels is IMHO as versatile as you can get.

I have! But I don’t know of a 10mm in the 19, 23, 32 form factor.

My understanding of .357 Sig defensive rounds is that they have superior barrier penetration characteristics, in addition to being very effective on target. The world changed five years ago; got much more dangerous. Now it’s multiple bad guys or a mob.

I can consistently find 124gr training ammunition for $23 - $25 per 50 round box. In fact, I just ordered 500 rounds of Speer Lawman 125gr at $0.52 per round!

I was looking through my law enforcement eyes at the time. I thought 10mm was a bit overkill, a boutique round. 10mm seemed to meexpensive and harder to come by too. I had an officer that carried a Kimber 10mm and thought it was a bit odd at the time.
I didn’t see anything more ideal than .45ACP for my applications until I saw what the .357Sig was doing in the hands of Texas DPS. As I did a lot of traffic stops throughout a day I really was drawn to the performance of punching through vehicle parts that the .45 wasn’t known to be all that great at.
So after thinking about it the .357Sig looked like a winner at the time. Smaller gun, more capacity, better performance, my off duty in the same caliber and commonality of magazines, the cartridge being adopted by a bunch of agencies at the time.
I didn’t think Texas DPS and other agencies would drop it considering all the testing and reasoning in adopting it.
