Official: Battalion commander dead in Fort Bragg shooting

A U.S. Army official confirms to NBC News that there was a shooting at about 3:30 p.m. ET at Fort Bragg in North Carolina.

At least one person has been shot near the 18th Airborne Headquarters in a "distinctly military headquarters area," the official said.
A senior US defense official told NBC that the deceased victim is a battalion commander. There is no indication of motive at this time, but the incident does not appear to be terrorist-related.
Law enforcement are on the scene, and Fort Bragg officials have said on Facebook that the post is not on lockdown. No further information has been released.

Read about this the other day. I have a buddy whose stationed up there. Really had me worried. Then he posted on Facebook that he was all right and he knew both guys. Really sad.
