Have been looking at this gun for some time now and thinking about getting one. Does anyone own one and what do you think about it. I have a Winchester Mod. 88 in 308 that I might trade in for the new Scout. What do you think?

I know its the Col Cooper dream gun, but it just seems outdated to me. 7lbs, 10rd mag, $1000 and a bolt action.......I'd take a m1a socom 16 for an added 1.5lbs and $400. Just my opinion of course, and thats obviously not the opinion of so many who have bought and love the Scout.

You're talking about the Steyr scout.

My brother has the predecessor to the gunsite. The Ruger Frontier Scout. Super compact but no detachable mag or flash hider.

Thanks for the info. I think I still need to do more homework.
