That sir is way up my list on the fun factor!! I just got some 405 grain 45/70 shells I haven't got to shoot yet, I was shooting 325's there. I have a scope coming too so I will do a video when it all comes together. That thing will take down an Elephant with the right shells in it!!Man,looks like your ready for Camp Perry. Lol. That 45-70 rocks the house brother!!!
I will take it to 100 yards some day! I am a novice with a shotgun, I knew they really are beasts but those holes in that steel really gave me a new perspective!! And you probably know this but the 870 Tac. comes with Ghost Rings standard, I really like them.Makes me miss shotgun school.Three days of slugs and 00 buck. Sniping hostage takers with 1 oz. slugs at 125 yards with ghost ring sights.
And those were the Remington 72 cal. slugs? I think? Dang my shoulder is feeling it right now!! I shot 20 rounds of 00 buck and 25 or so Turkey loads too!!Yup. I shot a Rem 870 Police Magnum with 18" barrel and Wilson Ghost Rings.
...... I usually use 7.5 or 8 Bird shot in my home defense. ......
Yea cause just imagine the damage it will do at close range if it has the power to do that to a 5 pound steal plate at 50 yards. It is my opinion that using slugs for home defense is an overkill, no pun intended. I sure would not want that slug going through my two walls, traveling next door, penetrating many more walls, and possibly taking out many neighbors in the process. OO buck is far better for a scatter gun, and you don't need to be so accurate.
I can see this as an alternate round if the bad guy happened to be hiding behind an engine block. You could take him out and kill the car, all in one shot!
