Protecting the finish on my Old Glock?

I have a 16 yr old Glock that has some holster wear and the finish is a dull charcoal gray. Anything I can use as a treatment to perhaps protect the finish (and perhaps return some color) to my range baby short of a duracoat or sending it in?

Is the gun used as a every day carry or holster carryed often? If so, why bother? The Tennifer treatment is still protecting the metal.

If you just want it to look good and are keeping it in a box I believe it is well worth the money to have Glock refinish the gun and they will go thru the it for upgrades and do functional test on it.
