Has anyone polished the slide on there Glock (outside)and if so how did you do it and how did it turn out? Please don't tell me to send it to someone. I have a few Glocks and I would like to do this one myself.

Thanks for any advice given.

Been covered in another thread, but more of an "Aside" to polishing barrels.

Here is my G23G4 slide. I detail stripped it and removed both sites.

The slide was done by hand with mother's mag polish, about half a container's worth. Since the sites are back on, when I go to continue to work on it, i'll tape off the sights.

The back plate is aftermarket "chrome". It came in a matte finish. A little polish shined it up. This was also the case for the 3 pins and extended slide release.

enjoy, it's a great process and keeps you "moving" if you're watching TV.

dwcfastrice I love how that slide looks! I am not going to do my slide but I will probably end up doing my barrel. Just really like the look.
Thanks! Having a polished barrel is always nice.

I stripped the black off the slide with Birchwood Casey blue and rust remover and some elbow grease. Vinegar works too, but at the time Did this, I had just made a jar of pickles and was out of vinegar. :D

Thanks!

That's a pelican 1400. Can fit 3 pistols and 9 mags without getting too crazy with foam removal.
