Currently live in pa, now wv honors pa carry permit holders, the question is, my family live in Ohio and I plan on making a trip this fall to see them, how exactly do you go about getting an out of state permit? I can't find anything on getting a permit to carry in Ohio. I know how to get one if your a resident. I was told you can get a Utah permit and Ohio honors that but wasn't sure. Any advice?

I would suggest doing the Utah permit. I live in California and where I live in the state I can't get a permit so Iam going to get a Utah and Florida permit which will allow me to carry in over 32 states.

Pretty sure Ohio is one of those states but you will have to google that to be certain.

Florida and Utah both offer out of state permits. Here in California there's a 98% chance a normal citizen won't get a permit so an out of state is a great way for us to carry when we leave are state.

I was born and raised in Florida and go back a lot so it's a great way to carry in my home state

There are 25 states that issue to residents that live in other states.

Here is a link to an interactive reciprocity map:
http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_carry_permit_reciprocity_maps.html
That map is great! I have seen the map that shows who honors my Ohio permit before. But because this map is interactive, I can select Ohio as my resident state, and then select a Florida non-resident state at the same time, and it combines and shows all the states that honor both. A non-resident Florida permit would add Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Pennsylvania.

CWP from Utah

I have a CWP from Utah also Idaho where I live. Utah and Idaho neither one includes California in their permits.. I am also in California at the time for a few months.. and am considering carrying.. IF i need it any place it would be here in cali.. NOT idaho... the law states you can get a concealed carry if you are a resident of california but it is impossible to obtain one.
Yes the Utah permit is good in 32 states and the Idaho is good in 35 states.. best is to just reside in the states your permit is good in.. however I am in cali now so just making the best of it.. moko

I have a permit in my home state of MA, and got a permit in PA while I was on vacation back in 2011. NH Non-res is next on my list when I have the extra $100, then Utah. Until we have a nationwide carry law, we have to take what we can.

Well west do you think the president will allow such a thing to happen
More wishful thinking really. Trying to remain positive, but hell I live in a state where an FFL can't sell a Glock made after 1994.

Question: if you have a state resident CC permit, then domicile to a different state while still living in the state with the permit, is it void since your legal residency changed? Would you have to apply for a non-resident permit and stop CC-ing until it came in?
