Didn't break any laws or get in trouble but was out shooting in the local rocky mountain national forest and apparently ppl wayyyy far away could hear shots and called the sheriff. In between loading I hear this "Hellooo!!" so I walked down a ways and this poor sheriff was walking all over the Mtn trying to see what was happening and slipped and fell right before he approached me. Felt bad for the guy since the over paranoid citizens wasted his time. He just said a few ppl complained but that I wasn't breaking any laws and talked the whole way down the Mtn how he shoots and goes bow hunting for bears. Maybe things don't ever concern me much but if I heard someone fire hundreds of rounds thru the woods I would assume its clearly ppl having fun....seemed like his main concern was to make sure no alcohol was around. Is it just me or should ppl mind their own damn business lol

I'd rather have the minor hassle than have people minding their own business when I truly need help.

I hear ya but it really should have seemed obvious. Just not a fan of ppl calling the cops when I'm not breaking the law. Oh well
I live a couple miles North of town outside city limits so I hear guns shots all the time and even contribute to em' myself from time to time. I have a large plastic container with 200+ lbs of sand in it that stops anything and everything I shoot at it. I normally don't shoot past 7 yards and then only a mag or two to test out my handguns. For "Serious" shooting we go to a TWRA managed single stage, 100 yard range off of Genesis Rd.
I think I'd be more worried if I just heard a few guns shots then nothing over hearing a bunch of gun shots. A few shots could be a murder but a lot of shots is normally just target practice.LOL:D
