You'll never see any stupid crap like that in any organized competition, USPSA/Steel Challenge/IDPA/multi gun. Predominantly black on black, or fiber optic front with black rear.

I don't see many 'Old Geezers' with troubled eyes at those competitions anyway. Perhaps you're comparing apples with oranges, I have Night Fision on my pistols.

Well I'm an old Geezer at 70, Super Senior in USPSA, but I still shot this classifier with full house 357SIG in my G31 with Trijicon night sights...

The old geezers like Rob Leatham and Ken Hackathorn are now using red dots and they swear by them. Rob Leatham is 61 and Ken Hackathorn is 75. Two of the best living pistol shooters and they've both benefited from using red dots now that their sight and dexterity are failing.
