Last year I resolved to put a hiatus on buying any new guns in 2022. That lasted exactly two weeks. This year I make no such promises to myself, but I will likely prune my collection of guns I no longer have much interest in and make room for any new arrivals. Other than that I resolve to try to get my wife to the range sometime and teach her to shoot.

Unless you have a very special relationship, get her a good instructor and let them take care of it. You stay away. She will listen to someone else, especially if a fee is involved, better than a spouse.
I've seen that one way too many times. Good luck to both of you, and you can shoot together pretty well after the training, usually.

I am thinking of buying a Glock 21 for Home Protection.

My wife likes the Colt Commander in 45 ACP and shoots it well. She is proficient enough to show her girlfriend how to disassemble and assemble a Glock. Currently I only have 9mm Glocks so the Glock 21 in 45 ACP will make her happy. I did rent her a Glock 36 to try out and she did not like it.

The 21 shoots so smooth and easy it’s in a class of its own.
I didn’t think the G30 shot as light and sold mine.
I’ve got 2 G21s.

The only time I’ve shot a 36 was when a girl next to me rented one. She asked for my help. She had loaded every round in the magazine backwards. I couldn’t believe it. So I showed her what she did wrong & in exchange she let me shoot a few mags. It’s not a Glock I’d really want, imho.

I think I am a bit like you. I have sold 16 handguns and rifles this year and picked up a G21 Gen5 and a Smith & Wesson single action snubbie for occasional conceal. Put some money into a series of one-on-one lessons to advance my skills. It feels liberating to get rid of guns I never shot and focus on ones I love. And the lessons help me focus on what really matters: being proficient.

Did you get her Number?

Myself I like the 30S. It’s a fine shooter for a .45 but not quite as smooth as a G21.
