Pilgrim Ammunition Self Defense Pistol Ammunition Now Available

Sarasota, FL – Pilgrim Ammunition, a manufacturer of premium high-velocity, lead-free, defensive pistol ammunition has inventory ready to ship to consumers. Pilgrim Ammunition’s Torch™ line of cartridges uses premium materials and components and innovative design to produce ammunition that rapidly expands in soft targets to mitigate overpenetration, increases kinetic energy and reduces felt recoil. Torch™ is available in .380ACP, 9mm +P, .40 S&W and .45ACP +P.

The heart of the design and performance of Torch is the use of a precision CNC machined, all-copper bullet that is lightweight and lead free. This helps achieve velocities up to 75% faster than traditional pistol ammunition in comparative cartridges, such as up to 2,000fps for the 9mm +P cartridge. This hyper-velocity allows the lightweight hollow point bullet to penetrate then rapidly expand in a starburst pattern to fully deliver its kinetic energy while mitigating the risk of overpenetration. To date there has been zero overpenetration during company testing using industry standard ballistic gelatin. The lightweight bullet also reduces the felt recoil which is helpful for controllability and follow-up shots, in particular with smaller and more compact pistols.
Torch® ammunition is now available for consumer direct purchase at Pilgrim Ammunition. Currently Torch™ is sold in boxes of 20rds each and with an MSRP of $34.95 for the .380ACP, $34.95 for the 9mm +P and 35.95 for the .40S&W +P and $39.95 for the .45ACP +P. CMP Warns Against the Use of Certain .30-06 Ammunition

246435

Dear CMP Family,

The CMP advises to not use .30/06 ammunition in M1 Garands, 1903s, and 1903A3s that is loaded beyond 50,000 CUP and has a bullet weight more than 172-174gr. These rifles are at least 70 years old and were not designed for max loads and super heavy bullets. Always wear hearing and eye protection when firing an M1 Garand, 1903 and/or 1903A3 rifle.

This warning is an update/addition to the Ammunition section in the Read This First manual enclosed with each rifle shipment (M1 Garand manual-page 6 and M1903 manual-page 10).

New Luth-AR Modular Trigger Assembly

If they are saying $150 MSRP, actual street price should be better!

Luth-AR Modular Trigger Assembly

Triggers for AR15 rifles: a simple yet so complex subject with as many opinions as there are people. Luth-AR now has a new single-stage drop-in trigger which is said to give a crisp, clean trigger break at around 3.5 lb. The drop-in functionality is something I really appreciate when building a rifle, as it saves me a lot of time and frustration. So far, I had no complaints or difference in feel between a drop-in trigger or one I installed all the parts in manually. The price for their new Modular Trigger Assembly is $149.95, which seems very competitive.
Luth-AR Modular Trigger Assembly

Here’s what Luth-AR has to say about their new MTA:
Introducing the MTA™ — Modular Trigger Assembly™
Luth-AR MTA™ Trigger
High quality AR-15 drop-in trigger.

When it comes to a performance trigger in an AR platform you have two choices, find a qualified gunsmith and pay them to perform a custom trigger job from stock trigger parts, or simply drop-in a Luth-AR MTA™ trigger ready to go. The MTA™ housing is made from 6061 Hardcoat Anodized Aluminum. The internals are precision cut from EDM process using A2 tool steel and heat treated to 40-45 HRC, and utilize SST bushings and springs resulting in a crisp 3 1/2 lb trigger break.
Features:
  • Single Stage Drop-In Trigger
  • Compatible with .22, .223/5.56mm, .30 cal
  • 3.5 lb Pull Weight approximately
  • Complete Drop-in Assembly
  • Crisp, clean trigger break
Specifications:
  • Trigger housing: 6061 Aluminum
    • Hardcoat Anodized – Black
  • Hammer, Trigger, Disconnector: A2 tool steel
    • Heat treated to 40-45 HRC
    • Black Nitride Finish

DEFCAD Wins In The Ninth Circuit Court – Ghost Gun Online
Defcad wins ninth circuit

For those of you who have been not paying attention for the past few years, Cody Wilson of DEFCAD and Ghost Gunner has been providing lawful gun owners the files and means to manufacture their own firearms. Specifically, 3D printed guns. Technology has advanced that it is easier to manufacture a working firearm at home and it is cost-effective. Recently DEFCAD wins in the Ninth Circuit Court.
DefCad Wins In The Ninth Circuit Court – Ghost Gun Online

There is a bit of controversy regarding the proliferation of firearms. Cody Wilson is the genius behind the Ghost Gunnerand Defense Distributed. The U.S. Government tried to regulate the digital designs and files of firearm components as falling under the State Department of Defense. Which makes them regulated under ITAR. Having said digital files free online to anyone means you are violating ITAR exportation regulations whenever a non-US Citizen downloads these files.
Digital files of firearms are merely information and therefore fall under the protection of both the first and second amendments. This is what Cody Wilson has been pushing for all this time. If you recall back in August of 2018, a court tried to block his publishing of digital firearm files online.
Cody Wilson won his lawsuit in 2018 but last year he was blocked by a federal judge in Seattle, Washington. This judge filed for an injunction claiming posting the designs without restrictions could put unregistered weapons into the hands of terrorists.
Well, the Ninth Circuit Court has made their determination that these files are not the purview of the State Department. DEFCAD wins. Gun grabbers lose. They overruled the injunction due to a federal law from 1989. This law prohibits courts from overruling the State Department’s decision to add or remove a weapon from the Munitions List.
Here is the announcement from Cody Wilson:
To the American Rifleman,
After seven years, Defense Distributed has at last secured a legal victory in the Ninth Circuit. All CAD files, blueprints and manuals for small arms are free to be legally downloaded at DEFCAD. Firearms CAD data is available on an unlimited basis and can be downloaded worldwide. CAM files remain restricted to DEFCAD and LEGIO account holders pending further litigation.
This a tremendous milestone and victory in the history of open source firearms development.
The files you contribute and download to the site today are considered validly and irrevocably committed to the public domain, free of future attempts at regulation and control.
Thank you for almost a decade of support.
Cody R. Wilson
This is a definite win not just for the 2A community but also for the country. Regardless of where you stand on the proliferation of firearms, government control and regulation is getting worse. There is a fallacy regarding untraceable firearms. Having a registered firearm only tells you one thing. Who the last person was to legally transfer said firearm. Anytime a firearm is stolen, it becomes a “ghost gun”. An arbitrary number on the side of some metal or polymer will not help you geolocate that firearm or the criminal in possession of it. It is like the VIN on your motor vehicle. How does the number affect cars that are stolen or misused? How does a number on your car stop someone from crashing into other people with it? It does not. Congratulations to Cody Wilson and DEFCAD. I hope more people push back against the government and put them in their place.

———————————————————-
I always get the feeling that the gungrabbers are trying to inspire crazies and terrorists by screaming about hypothetical criminal acts that will be committed.
Just like Schumer screaming, all the bad guys and gangs have to do is go to a gun show and exploit the gun show loophole and they can be as well equipped as any police force or army. Wink wink.

Freedom and Liberty can exist while criminal acts are being addressed. Punishing the masses for the improprieties of a few is Anti-American!

Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. Announces Intent to Divest Thompson/Center Arms Brand

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., May 3, 2021 — Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select Market: SWBI), a leader in firearm manufacturing and design, today announced that it plans to divest its Thompson/Center Arms brand. This decision is part of the Company’s broader strategic plan that will focus on its core Smith & Wesson brands.
Mark P. Smith, President and CEO of Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., said, “Thompson/Center is a beloved hunting brand with a longstanding heritage, and we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition. Thompson/Center Arms’ loyal consumers should rest assured that they will continue to receive the world-class firearms, accessories, and customer service support that the brand has been known for since its founding in 1965. We remain fully committed to the hunting and long-range shooting market, and with this divestiture we will be able to now focus on these categories under our iconic Smith & Wesson brand. Additionally, this will allow us to immediately redirect manufacturing capacity to increase overall production volumes, allowing us to gain additional market share while simultaneously increasing profitability.”
At this time, a buyer for the Thompson/Center Arms brand has not been identified; however, the divestiture is not expected to have a material financial impact on the Company’s first quarter fiscal year 2022 results and the Company expects the divestiture to be accretive to the Company’s full year fiscal 2022 through higher overall production levels, increased margins, and lower marketing costs. The Company states that this decision will not result in a workforce reduction as its flexible manufacturing model allows it to repurpose capacity immediately to other areas without a headcount reduction.

Chiappa 1887 ROSE BOX Limited Edition Shotgun

Chiappa 1887 ROSE BOX Limited Edition Shotgun (1)

For this author, and I bet for many of our readers too, “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” is the best movie of the whole Terminator franchise. For 1991, the year it was released, it had amazing visual effects never seen before and many of the scenes and phrases from that movie became famous and frequently quoted. One of these scenes is the Galleria scene where Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character, the T-800, pulls a sawed-off Winchester Model 1887 lever action shotgun out of a box of roses to stop the shapeshifting T-1000 and protect John Connor. Chiappa Firearms have been making the replica of this shotgun called T-Model for quite a long time but they have also recently added to their website a limited edition version dubbed 1887 Rose Box as a tribute to the mentioned scene and dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the movie.
Chiappa 1887 ROSEBOX Limited Edition Shotgun (222)

The Chiappa 1887 Rose Box is chambered in 12 gauge and has a 2-3/4″ chamber. The magazine capacity is five rounds. The barrel length is 18.5″, the overall length is 27.5″ and the gun weighs in at 7.8 lbs. Compared to the Chiappa T-Model which has black rubber coated walnut furniture, the 1887 Rose Box features a walnut stock and forearm with a hand-oiled finish. The right sides of the receivers are laser engraved with a rose, J-DAY ANNIVERSARY inscription under the model name and the guns are numbered. There will be 300 of these limited edition shotguns made.
Chiappa 1887 ROSE BOX Limited Edition Shotgun (223)

The MSRP of the Chiappa 1887 Rose Box shotgun is $1,449. I wonder if it is shipped in a box of roses.

Good news! I just hope they take the time with quality control and don’t expedite the process to deliver the rifles and shotguns by hunting season.
Good and bad stating they are focused on the upscale models.
Good-should be focusing on quality
Bad-could be focusing on profit margins

Ruger Issues Safety Bulletin for Ruger-57 Pistols

247006

When the Ruger-57 burst onto the scene in late 2019, it made quite a splash. For around two decades, there were very few models of firearms using the 5.7x28mm cartridge – chiefly just FN’s own P90 and Five-seveN variants, which were developed starting in the late ’90s in conjunction with the round. Though a handful of other manufacturers have added support over the years, the pickings have remained relatively slim. It makes sense, then, that Ruger‘s release of a 5.7-caliber handgun priced significantly lower than FN’s option (a $799 MSRP versus $1199) got people excited. It was well-received, and both TFB’s and TFBTV’s reviewers had positive things to say about it. For those readers who have them, we hope you enjoy them, but be warned: a safety issue has been discovered. See the following bulletin from Rugerregarding a potential problem with the manual safety lever.
