Brazil Orders 159,000 Beretta APX Pistols
Via TFB

Viva Italia! Brazilian Law Enforcement agencies have ordered up to 159,000 units of Beretta’s APX striker-fired semi-automatic pistol. The pistol is going to be used by the National Public Security Force and the regional police forces of several of Brazil’s 26 states. The contract between Beretta and the Brazilian Ministry of Justice will last over 18 months, with a commitment from Beretta to supply up to 159,000 pistols for a maximum value of 57 million Euros (roughly $69 million USD).

The new Beretta APX semiautomatic pistol, utilizing a removable, serialized chassis frame, can be easily modified with replaceable grip frame housings and is simple to disassemble and maintain. Ease of use was the key driver in the development of the APX.

The APX’s extremely low profile, snag free, design makes it easy to carry and draw from the holster. To accommodate right or left-handed use, the APX’s magazine release button can be easily reversed. The light, durable grip frame housing employs modern thermoplastic technology through the use of fiberglass reinforced technopolymer.
Beretta have some good pictures explaining the function of the APX.

And below you can see the different parts.

A little over a year ago the Polish Policja (Police) decided to go with the Beretta APX as well, ordering about 5,000 units. The Swedish Police is currently looking for a new service pistol for 2020-21, and the Beretta APX and the Beretta PX4 are some of the handguns on their list.

I’ve never shot one but I handled them quite a bit since they were introduced. The ones I handled have excellent triggers. I was thinking of getting one for a couple of years but am already 9mm pistol rich sooo.
I never was a fan of the PX4.
The Sao Paulo Military Police goes with Glocks, and the rest of Law Enforcement with Beretta.

I’m sure they are more than happy just keeping up with demand at the moment.
Yes, that is probably true.
I was hoping to see the Glock carbine this year.

they announced they are working on a 5x prism scope and a 1.5x

they showed a prototype of the 1.5x and said they still werent sure if enough demand was there. The 5x is still in development stages although they did show a rendering
5x would be a good thing. We are all getting there....

It’s surprising to see California in the top 3, top 5, in many of these reports.
So, either the good people of California are waking up or the Democrats in California are arming themselves up.

Why not as all states that signed on to the several states agreed to it as the supreme law of the land.
Agreed!

I’m only guessing as I don’t know that much about California. Could it be that gun buyers have another issue as their main voting issue ? The non-gun population vastly outvotes the gun enthusiasts? Or probably worst yet, gun buyers are ok with silly draconian gun laws?!?
We will never understand California or New York.

I’m not too sure about this but if anyone’s interested....
Me neither. It is definitely bulky.

We need Florida and many more states to do it too.
Constitutional Carry shows that we believe, not only in our 2nd Ammendment, but in our entire Constitution as well.

Good news! I just hope they take the time with quality control and don’t expedite the process to deliver the rifles and shotguns by hunting season.
