Coming aboard the GF forum from DFW. Been running a Glock 19.5 for a year and carry a G43x. Starting to dip my toes in competitive shooting and looking to glean some new friends and information along the way on the GF forum.

DFW Glock guy here from Garland. I too shoot G19 Gen 5 and went and bought a G44 this morning. Plan to shoot more of the .22 ammo and kind of hold back my 9mm stuff for the time being.

Welcome to the forum. Where are you doing competition shooting ?

HJB. I joined the Collin County IDPA and shoot indoors at Frisco Gun Range and outdoor at Mission 160. I am pretty new to the IDPA thing and don’t score well yet but I enjoy it a lot.

I'm going to have to get over to Frisco Gun Range because I hear it is very nice. I think I can go shoot some days during the week for $10 an hour as a senior, and it would be fun just to go try it. It is a long drive for me so have not done it yet.

I do shoot regularly at Bullet Trap in Plano because they have a great deal for first responders and ex-military. $90 a year and I can shoot all I want for free during the week and I think for about $8 on weekends. I'm retired so can get all the time I need during the week. Facility is not the greatest....no air conditioning or heating although they keep claiming they are trying to get that done. I don't believe it but still a pretty good deal.

I'm not familiar with CC IDPA but it does look interesting and fun and a good opportunity to learn and improve skills.

    Thanks for the reply.
