Hey guys. Been reading on the forum for a while, first post. I traded in my Springfield XD “Service Model” today... the first gun I ever purchased years ago. Was sad to see it go, but it’s been replaced by the 19x. I was able to get about 150 rounds through it before heading in to work this afternoon.

I’m newer to Glock. Always been a Springfield guy until I picked up a G43 a few months back. Was a game changer for me and I’ve slowly been dumping my Springfields (XDs x 2 gone, XD now gone, and Mod 2 subcompact likely next to go). They’re great guns but I’ve just really fallen in love with Glock after the G43. The weight, the size, the simplicity, and the trigger. Had to swap out to Trijicon HD XR sights, cerakote the slide and add some talon grips but it’s my favorite gun to carry, beating out my Kimber Micro 9 about 95% of the time.

The G43 is the only Glock I’ve had until now so I can’t compare what it’s like to shoot any generation of the 17 or 19 vs the 19x. But I can say that the 19x is awesome to shoot.

I found it very well balanced, awesome trigger, I appreciate the mag release being a little more pronounced compared to my G43, and it’s just so easy and fun to shoot (and shoot well). The color is cool, black would be fine too doesn’t matter to me, but I like that it’s a little different.

I looked at the Sig P320 X Carry same time as the 19x. I was back and forth between the two until I got to them in person. Virtually the same size in all aspects but the X Carry weighs a few ounces more. Was not impressed with the X Carry like I thought I’d be. Trigger was just meh and didn’t live up to what I’d read on it, weight wasn’t as balanced, and it just felt cheaper. I was surprised. Couldn’t see where the $749 price tag was coming from... had great sights, the slide port was cool and I liked the grip, but other than that it was nothing special (for me anyway). Made the decision on the 19x that much easier.

For those who have any generation G19 or G17 I guess I can understand some of the pushback on why you’d need or even want a 19x. Watched plenty of videos and read multiple articles on how pointless the 19x is for the civilian market while researching... and how stupid Glock is for designing it the way they did. But for someone like me who was looking to replace a non-carry gun (this will go in the nightstand safe with my TLR-4 attached) the 19x was the perfect gun.

Got $225 for my XD on trade, 19x was $599 so it was $401 out the door the for the 19x after tax. Pretty happy about how it all worked out today and am loving this thing (even though it’s only been a few hours).

Wow, welcome from a small conservative stronghold in Western Washington! As I have been obsessed with reading about and looking at the G19X, I think I can safely say you have posted some of, if not the actual best photos yet of the Glock 19X. I so cannot wait to pick mine up! I have a gun I can sell to get it sooner but I am trying to live up to my belief that I shall never sell guns anymore. Thanks for posting those great photos!

Thanks! I tried to get some close ups of the things that stood out to me.

Grip: Much more textured compared to the G43. I don’t know if that’s how it is on all the Gen 5 models, but I don’t plan on changing it or adding Talon grips like in the G43

Mag release: Sticks out just a little further than on the 43 and I really like it. Much easier to engage but isn’t going to just engage by accident. Perfectly done in my opinion

Slide finish: It’s pretty sweet. Compliments the frame nicely and almost has a kind of metallic look in the right light. But still looks matte like 99% of the time. It’s cool.

Lanyard: Very easy to remove

I've owned a Gen2 G17 for 25 years, but everything about the 19X makes me think it’s the first Glock I might love even more.

On paper it’s got everything I want with none of the "improvements" I don't like such as finger grooves and flared mag well. I'm hoping the marriage of the 17 grip and 19 slide, plus night sights, improved trigger and marksman barrel, make pretty much the ideal handgun. The fact that everyone who shoots it is so impressed seems to confirm that. Ordered mine a couple days ago and with posts like these I keep feeling better and better. I can’t wait.

I just wish our soldiers were going to get the G19X instead of that crappy Sig.

I recently bought a G19X. Two friends and I made a range trip last Sunday morning. I took four different brands of 115gr factory ammo and the G19X. The pistol balked with Armscorp, Fiocci, and MagTech ammo. It cycled Blazer brass almost 90% of the time. This failure to feed situation happened to all three of us.
I am 70 years old and have been associated with handguns since my Army days back in 1968.
I am not a rookie shooter by any means.
I read about this situation on internet reviews. I now have first hand experience.
I know the barrel is the Marksman barrel and it's specs are tighter, but this firearm competed in the military trials.
Surely it should cycle ammo better than my did. Has anyone else had issues with this new G19X?
