Wanna buy a gun from someone but how does he send the gun and ammo and holster to me if he lives in Indiana and I leave in Florida? Does it just go to a dealer and I pick it up from there?

Yup. It gets sent to your FFL of choice. You go in there, fill out the paperwork, and walk out with the gun.

His FFL would have to get with your FFL, they exchange info, you pay their individual fees, his FFL ships to your FFL and then you pick it up.

Yep exactly that. They would need a signed copy of the FFL before the transaction can take place. At least that's how it was when I had my FFL.

Ballpark is the FFL transfer will cost seller about $50 plus shipping, and close to the same for you. So it adds about $100 to what you're thinking to pay. Again a ballpark. I went through a similar thing to get some pistols down to FL from NY ( they belonged to my grandfather).
