I know Ive said a few times already that I'm on the market to buy a gun. Ive been thinking about a G23 for the longest now. Today I had a chance to stop by a gun store and hold a G23 for the thousandth time. It was a range gun and they were out of G23. When racking the slide and seeing how it felt. The damn slide almost bit me. I thought for a min, oh ****. I really start paying attenchin to how the gun fit. I noticed that if my grip isnt exactly right I stand to get my hand cut by the slide cause I have big hands. Glocks are ugly as hell with beaver tails so that isnt a option. My question is, what would you guys do? Is this something that makes or breaks a gun for you. Just trying to see if should leave the Glock on the table as far as purchaseing goes? I have shot a G23 before probably put 30 rounds or so through one and didn't have any issues.

Glocks are ugly as hell out of the box anyways. I you need a grip mod for a beaver tail to protect those ogre hands of yours do it. Try a G22 put first. A beaver tail would allow you to get a better high yang grip... Food for thought.

I have a Glock 17 with a beaver tail. It may not be pretty with it on, but then again I never thought it was pretty with it off :D. I actually like the beaver tail because I can get a nice high grip with my fairly large hands and not get sliced up by the slide.

Glocks are not the most pretty things but they are not downright ugly that you have to shoot it with a paper bag on your hand. Think of it as the avarage girl that when you walk by you think that she is cute, but what you don't know is that she'd break your bed in half and still be ready for more.

That's one of the most interesting descriptions of a Glock that I have ever read! :D

lol
Ill try the G22, I just cant see my self putting a beaver tail on it.

I have a g23 don't really have an issue with the slider catching my hand. Have you thought maybe to go with g22 if your hand is bigger?
Going to try one

It is something to think about.

I get slide bite pretty bad from Glocks as well. Over time I have I added/ fabricated my own beavertails on my Gen 3's. I don't really give a rip about looks, I care much more about not bleeding every time I shoot.

Another option is the Grip Force Adapters that came out last year which simply pins onto the back strap. I have one of those and it works pretty well too.

The last and probably best option is to get a Gen 4 Glock since the Glock OEM beavertailed backstraps are due to hit the streets any day now.

Wow. I need to proof read what I post from the iPhone. I meant out not put and tang not yang.

Anyways. The grip force adapter look promising. Bump to that idea ^^^^^ that looks like it could be the ticket.
Glad I could help.

My Glock is a sexy beast......LOL, try the G22 if your hands are too big for a G23
