It's beautiful!! For Big Game hunting!! About 14 to 15 hundred bucks! And worth every penny! How do you go wrong with an AUSTRIAN MADE rifle!! It is .450 Marlin!!

I have a cousin that lives in ALASKA and he asked me a while back to come up, better to have more and not need it than to not have enough and need it, besides, I love the gun and a big bore is from what I hear like nothing else!!!

It'll get it done. Most people think of the .450 Marlin as a "Modernized" version of the .45-70. But it really lives in the .458 Winchester Magnum family.

Here's a pic. The .450 Marlin on the left, and the Winchester 458 Magnum on the right. You might like Peter Hathaway Capstick's books. He'll have you facing down charging beasts, holding cigar sized cartridges between your fingers, and celebrating the beauty of what a big solid can do when it's well placed. He's funny to read too.
