Havasu, buddy, you gotta remove your front gas block sight on your son's AR... That is an eyesore with optics mounted to them... get some flip ups! unless you're planning on removing the optics for good... my AR is in my introduction thread!

Since the photo was taken, he has installed the flip up sight, but it actually didn't hinder any view but looked "butt ugly" IMHO!

I also have been given everything he doesn't like on his AR so now I have the quick release bi-pod, swivel sling, click lock butt stock with storage, etc. The only thing I am missing is a nice set of optics, but I just can't justify spending $1000 for the one I really want.

do it man... it makes a world of difference! you may baulk at the price now... but in the long run with the warranty's offered now... it should never fail on you... and if it does... send it back for a brand new one!

I still have mine on and it has never posed an issue while aiming with my Aimpoint. If the batteries die, I can flip to the backup sights faster if I only have one to flip instead of two.
