To piggyback on a similar thread, I myself would like to know the best place to get the inner ear hearing protectors. When I shot skeet in competitions, all my competition had these, while I was wearing the silly full eat covers, which I find uncomfortable and cumbersome. Do they work good for handguns? I know they need to be custom molded to your particular ears, so are there companies that specialize in this?

I had mine done by a local guy who was at a match I shot at, but him and his partner are usually at the gunshows.

There are kits you can get to do it yourself, but I've never known anyone who used one. Usually there is someone doing them at the gunshows, also the local Cabelas and Bass Pro have folks that do them on occassion.

I use my for most my shooting which at the moment is handguns. THey work pretty well for most things, but I would recommend a set of ear muffs as well if you are going to be shooting anything with porting, in the magnum range alot, or something like .357 SiG as they tend to have more intense noise levels.

Since I had a police dog in my back seat for seven years, barking his fool head off, my hearing is already bad in my right ear. I would like to keep the hearing in my left ear if possible.

Have you checked these folks out?

Several people I work with have these (originally for use with the Jawbone bluetooth) but they've also purchased them for Bose earbuds and hearing protection.

I'll be getting these for myself next.

dwcfastrice, this is exactly what I have been looking for. Since this company is only about 10 minutes away from where I live, I believe I will be making a call really soon. Thank you very much!

Not a problem. I didnt even realize they were out your way. Their products are top notch and realistically when looking at price.... How much is your hearing worth?
