Show us a pic of the new gun.
My buddy has one, he has put 1000's of rounds through it. Only thing I could possibly suggest is to use a hot round. The big boxes of bulk don't always run flawlessly.
oh yea the bulk ammo isn't the best.. I still love burning through it. and I plan on painting the lettering tonite!

Real nice! I want one. Most of the ones I see don't have a flash hider.
I was hoping to get. .22 upper for my AR. Then realized the issue i had with my Thompson Center of changing parts to shoot a different caliber.

So now I'm just going to buy a M&P 15-22 or Mossberg tac .22. Will be around same price and a complete weapon.

Could you use a .22 conversion like the one offered by CMMG? It is just a bolt carrier group and a magazine.
yea I love the flash suppresser. yea I was lookin them up and the mossburge 720 seemed quite popular several sites on line where out of stock. and cheaper. I found one for 260... but I wanted the M&P 15-22.... just run about 100 rounds through it. I love this gun!!!!! hahaha. now for a scope maybe.. and a surefire light.
The Mossberg is almost impossible to find. No store ever could get one, I only saw 1 for sale on an auction site once.
I found some... can't remember the site. but it had a list of diff. sellers. I just goggled it and started going down the list
Congrats...nice looking piece !
thanks :) im grinning ear to ear right now. lol

I was going this route and was talked out of it. The guy that help build my AR told me that the conversions where "junk" using the word to simplify what he said.
And once again the hassle of just changing things to shoot a different caliber. I bought numerous barrels for my Encore. Then got tired of changing barrels out. So I bought another complete firing system so I would have 2 sets of stocks and forearms to change on but still don't like so now I'm just buying rifles when finances allow.

I have a CMMG .22 kit for my AR. No issues at all. And I have shot a BUNCH of rounds through it. And it is quick to swap out. But to each his own I guess. Makes training with the same weapon system a bit cheaper than sending hundreds of 5.56 ammo down range at a time.

Thanks! This is why I come to this forum. hands on experience from the real world. Maybe I will give CMMG a try.
I really like the M&P22 unlike the Mossberg the controls are the same as a regular AR15 and you can mod it to replicate your regular AR15.
I talked to a gun store rep. He advised me it was hit or miss with the CMMG kit. I didn't want to risk it.
Love my m&p 15-22. Use it often for AR simulation/training with the department, plus my kids just can't get enough of it.

It is accurate, functions like an AR as far as controls and breakdown. Eats bulk ammo, and its light. My 8 year old can hold it on target with no fatigue.

Not saying the others are not good choices either, but I am very happy with the Smith.
yea I was shooting bulk winchester rounds. it ran great besides like 3 FTFs.... I had a few rounds get hung up in the clip during the cycle. they would stand straight up and i had to force them out.not really shore what caused it.
