There are so many on the market it's hard to recommend. Anything from Streamlight or Surefire is a no brainer. I like Bright Strike a lot.

Check out this page. They have a wide variety of brands and in my experience only carry quality products. Don't hesitate to buy something on clearance; they often buy batches of overruns/leftovers and then turn 'em and burn 'em. I couldn't begin to tell you how much money I've saved shopping their clearance stuff.

80 lumens is enough to blind someone when its a dark room. You can get upwards of 350 lumens with some lights like Cree, kind of overkill IMO.

If you really want blinding for the attacker, but not as hard on your night vision, look at strobes. Either something like the Streamlight TLR1s, which is weapon mounted, or the Bright Strikes which are handheld. Great effects.

On another forum I am a member on, I was lucky enough to get a Pentagon light X2 Xenon from a guy that just came back from Iraq and picked it up at one of the basses there. It is a very powerful light. It will light a pitch black room up with no problems. An if you look into the light you will see spots for a few mins afterwards.:) I paid $15 bucks for it and its the best $15 I have spent lol.

I use it on my Mossberg with a pressure cap an have no problems with it. The only bad part about Pentagon Lights are that they are out of business and you cant get the light threw retailers. Have to find a 3rd party to get one.

I have a Nitebeam 900 that I got as a Christmas present, they run about $40 on Amazon and its the brightest flashlight I have ever seen. I have never shined it in my own eyes but at full blast it's enough to light up my entire front yard like it's daytime (1/4 acre). It has five modes, High, medium, low, strobe and LED.
