What are your opinions and experiences with the Laserlyte sight?

I bought one at the same time I bought a new G17.

Elevation wouldn't adjust lower than about a foot high at 10 feet. The LED on the back didn't work.

Some may be ok but the one I got was crap. Got my money back.

How long ago was that? I've heard there were problems with the early ones.

I have a Laserlyte V3 Compact. It's Ok, holds zero, but I don't like that you have to think about turning it on and off. I think the Crimson Trace is a way better design because it comes on automatically when you grip the gun.
