I've been itching for a G30 and saw this one yesterday. It is a Gen 3...I guess...it's not a Gen4. It's a 3 pin gun, I'm not sure if the Gen 2 was a 3 pin or 2. It has some signs of wear all around the slide on the corners where the tenifer is worn off down to bare metal. it comes with two 10 round mags. Do you thing this is a fair price? $399.00? He may take a little less, not sure.

I appreciate any advice or suggestions.

I should have taken better pics. I mainly snapped this one for myself not thinking of posting it.

You think that's a fair price even with the wear? Bud's is advertising a new one w/free shipping for $547.00.

I think it seems like an okay deal but then I think I could get a new one for $148.00 more, however, the one at Bud's doesn't say anything about 2 mags.

I would expect them to drop $100. The tenifer is not worn down, you can't see it or wear it down (short of a grinder and some real effort). That said they probably don't know that because most people don't, so get $100 off arguing you will need it refinished blah blah blah

Okay, not tenifer, whatever that black stuff is on the slide...is worn off on the corners. Every corner and sharp edge on that slide is worn slightly shiny. Thanks, I will try the refinish trick.

yep just the black coating. Argue the cost of refinishing (you can use my as a quote if you want, $125 sounds good), the cost of a new 4th gen, etc.

Also u might want to find out why the recoil assembly is popping out the front. I noticed that from your pic immediately.

I noticed that too but after looking at pic of other G30s, it appears they look like that as well. No?

BUY IT! Or tell us where it is so we can buy it. :) My G30sf would love a brother.

Take the slide off and check the trigger bar for the new part, it should be "4256-1-":

Don't know too much on the 30s. I have a 27 gen 2.5 or 3 whatever? And the recoil assembly doesn't show like that at all. Also on my g21 gen4 it doesn't show. I'll look at some 30s but I just figured I'd point that out to him before he buys it.

If the wearing down bugs you then I would buy a new one, but it isn't a bad price. If that is all that is wrong with it then I would buy it. I love my G30 and is one of my best buys.

The older trigger bar in some G30,G30sf,G29 and G29sf's was causing a malfunction(possible ones built in the spring of 2009). They updated the part and added a "-" to the part number. It would fail to return to battery. If the gun never had any issues then the part is fine, or if you shoot it and it shoots okay, then the part is okay.

Good info, thanks. I guess if it doesn't have it, it's not a big deal. I could just get the corrected trigger bar.

I did it! It even came with the box with matching serial number. And it has night sights! I don't think they have very much life left in them though. I think most of this wear on the slide could be holster wear. Everything else seems to be in great shape.

Thanks for all the help! I guess I owe everybody a beer.
