Hello I ordered a glock 17 gen 4 LE in November still hasn't come in was wondering how long it takes and why. My local gun store (where I ordered it from) has no idea when it will come in any help would be nice or how the system works

Are you talking about a blue label G17 or a G17L? A blue label shouldn't take that long. Some models like the L, SF, and comp models are only ran a couple of times a year so it will all depend on production, the only way to tell for sure is to call Glock.
Next question would be if your dealer is just a FFL or are they a Glock dealer, if just an FFL, they will purchase and then ship the 17 from another dealer, so you could save some time and money by purchasing from a Glock dealer.

I guess I would have to call and ask if there a glock dealer and they said it was a law enforcement model which really only comes with an extra mag

That is a blue label, you are right the difference is it will come with three high caps if your state permits it. Anytime I have ordered a Glock or any other gun the most it has taken is a week, not sure why it is taking so long with them unless Glock just sold out during the Christmas rush. Glockstore.com has Gen 3 and Gen 4 G17 in stock, it may be faster to purchase it from them and have it transferred to you FFL.
Just got it in glock was a 175,000 orders behind they called me back 10week waiting period anyways love it btw glock 17 gen 4 shot 500 rounds works geat easy to clean going for the glock 21 next

Yea I purchased my G21 the last week of December and it only took 3 days to get in. The holiday rush must of made a damper in their supplies. There was a lot of guns bought in 2011: http://articles.cnn.com/2011-12-27/...s_1_gun-sales-gun-dealers-gun-sports?_s=PM:US

I can account for at least 3 :)
I bought a G17 that was in stock at my lgs about a month ago. They seem to have been in short supply on Gun Genie at that time.
My red label G19 Gen4 came with 3 high cap mags :D
December and January are worst months to buy. Dealers get rid of most of their inventory at this time because they'll have to pay taxes on anything they have in stock when they file to pay taxes. Two weeks ago, there wasn't even a single Glock mag available to be purchased in the entire state of GA. Had to find them in a gun show.
My department ordered about 200 back in March of 2011, still waiting. Ours will probably take a good deal longer than most orders though because we ordered special serial numbers and that requires a line shutdown for retooling. Last I heard they were 300K behind on orders at the Smyrna Plant, that came from the Glock LE rep who sold them to us.

All Gen 4 glocks come with 3 mags no matter what color label

Not the subcompacts, they come with 2 mags, at least on the Individual LEO order
Do you have to be LE to get the blue label or LE version? Which I'm guessing is the same version.

There is no difference in label colors except blue labels are discounted for le, fireman, military, and gssf members only, there is no difference in the gun itself

I thought GSSF prices and LE prices are different. LE gets a better price. Does a GSSF purchase actually come with the blue?

You get one purchase card a year after your second year of being a gssf member in other words you can't sign up for just one year and get a purchase card for a blue label you get your purchase card after the second year renewal and also blue label glocks are just something glock does to show it's appreciation to le, fireman, military, etc. Blue label glocks go for 398.00 plus tax for Gen 4s, that price is at Barney's gun supply in south Ms. And la. Gssf and le get the same price on blue labels

From what the Guy at Barney's police supply in south Ms. said they are all the same price it could be different somewhere else but I'm not sure
