I was looking around on a WWII militaria site a while ago and bumped into this interesting piece of "trench art," as it is called. It features .30-06 rounds, along with several other types of ordinance. I thought you might like taking a look at it:

That's cool! Here is what I would call "ship art" . This was given to my Grandfather from the Deck Crew on the U.S.S. Puget Sound in 1974. They replaced the round with a wooden one. It was a fired shell. I don't know what caliber it is.
