Hi ig17c. I am in the same boat. Shot for the first time 2 weeks ago, IL has brutal laws just to shoot a rented gun. I have a cousin who is considered an expert in Guns in IL and he told me to get the Glock 17 or 19 as well.iGlock17c said:Your the man! Thanks and yes that's what I need someone to give me there opinion on things like that. To be honest I want the gun for all those reason you gave, I want to learn about all of them, are the G30s a smaller gun? Is that why you said to carry?

Most will tell you to get what is most comfortable for you to shoot. I have to say I love the Smith & Wesson M&P but am sure I will buy the 17 and go from there. enjoy this as much as I have. It is a great new hobby and embrace meant of the 2nd Amendment.
Man I can't wait to get my first Glock so I can be able to conversate with you guys and feel what you guys feel!Grabber GT said:I have 19 and a 26. Both are great. Gonna order a 34 for competition. I shoot both at the range and carry the 26. Personal preference and practicality. I can't decide if I'm obsessed or just turning into a collector.
