This is something I really want to get into! And thank you both for taking time to write back! Thanks

No problem...also for ur gun question, best advice i can give is go to a local gun store and check them all out, hold them and get a feel for them and if you can shoot them.

Glock 17C is a great one, but it all depends on what your intended use. I look at guns as tools. Each one has a different purpose. Competition, go with a 34 or 35. Concealed Carry, a 26, 27, 29,30,33, and 36 would all be ok, just depending on the caliber. 9mm is going to be your cheapest and .45 probably your most expensive. .357 Sig and .45 GAP are probably a bit harder to find.
Just getting into shooting, start with a 17 or 19. Those are easy to learn with.

How's that for an answer! Remember...those are all just MY opinions.

Hi ig17c. I am in the same boat. Shot for the first time 2 weeks ago, IL has brutal laws just to shoot a rented gun. I have a cousin who is considered an expert in Guns in IL and he told me to get the Glock 17 or 19 as well.

Most will tell you to get what is most comfortable for you to shoot. I have to say I love the Smith & Wesson M&P but am sure I will buy the 17 and go from there. enjoy this as much as I have. It is a great new hobby and embrace meant of the 2nd Amendment.

Which one...

I have 19 and a 26. Both are great. Gonna order a 34 for competition. I shoot both at the range and carry the 26. Personal preference and practicality. I can't decide if I'm obsessed or just turning into a collector.
