Hello I am Derek from the North.

I am just getting into Pistols and Pistol shooting.

I've been trying a few hand guns at the local Range, So far I really don't like the Browning 22 Pistol, and the revolver style pistols.

I have been watching youtube videos on the Glock 17's and the Glock Long slides.

Tomorrow is my first date with a Glock 17 Long slide at the local Range.

I will determine then if I like to purchase it then or try a different model.

Anyways enough of me babbling.

Welcome to the Forum.

You are doing it correctly by trying them out at a range first. The G-17 is a great choice.

This is a great site and there is a lot of knowledge here. Enjoy :)

Thank you Sir. 3 weeks ago was my first time to be around fire arms since I took Hunter Safety in 10th grade.

And I was blown away how cool they are to fire and what not. My first time was pretty awesome. I still got my first target. May I post it?

Gagal, Here you Ma'am.

I hope you don't laugh at it too hard. I really like the sport.

As you can see GaGal, I am right handed and I was shooting a little to the right.

Once the Instructor told me how to breath and hold my gun properly, I was pretty much a good shot for my first time ever.

No problem. Of coarse they will be on the Iphone. They don't allow real camera's in the shooting room.

Something to do with the percussion of the guns when they go off.

Hello, GlockFirstTimer, and WELCOME to the Forum!

Always nice to hear from people coming to the sport, so feel free to post up your target pics and other guns you may have (or shoot, like that G17LS!).

Let us know how your first date with her goes! (Yes, we want you to kiss and tell ;))

Cheers!
