Hi all, i am new to glock. I am from south africa and am the proud owner of a G19 Gen 3, its still at the gunshop and i am waiting for my licence... What a long wait.

How long does it take to get a license there?

In total about 7 months for a new owner. You need competency for each type of weapon, handgun, rifle and shotgun. This takes 4 months and after the competency, you need your licence and it takes 3 months. I did not have competency so i have a long wait.

I can however go to the shooting range were i purchased it from and shoot it there so its not all bad. Next time i am there i'll take some pics.

Thanks for the welcome. What are you opinions on what i should get now that i have a glock. What would be required as a newbee?

Holster and plenty of ammo, the rest is up to personal opinion. There are many good threads on upgrades for the Glock on the forum already.
