Anyone thinking of or shooting in this match?
Personnally, I have never shot this match and thought I would give it a try.
Any Beckley Gun Club members here or folks that live nearby?

G23-I am planning on being there both days,as it is my second match (Marietta will be my first), and want to learn as much as I can.
Plus getting out of the wife's hair for a few days.

Had a good time. Not my best but certainly not my worst scores.
Preliminary Rankings for the The Coalfields Classic II are posted:

This was last years thread, by that's OK. We'll be there too on Satuday. Pulling a blue wagon. I have a silver GOCK pistol on my hat.
Did not realize last year thread. Aug 10-11 this weekend. Will be looking for the wagon.
6.73 was best time on glock the plates. First match was fun and learned a lot.

Was busy working the match, sorry I missed you. They seemed short handed.
Waited for hours to shoot. Was first match so not sure what categories to enter. Did get to register for the first time shooter gun so that is cool. Will be in Lexington in October. Any tips you give would be nice.

Tip:
After getting your stickers go to the stations that you want to shoot and sign in but DO NOT place an X by your name. Go to the Armorer, maybe try the warm-up stage (if they have one) canteen and get any visiting done at the vendors that you like.

Then go to the first stage you want to shoot and place the X by your entries and wait for them to call your name. Paste targets while you wait. Watch other competitors and see how the stage is run.

Tip:
Don't get all caught up with the speed you hear others shooting the match. GSSF rewards acturacy. Hit the targets. SLOW is fast.

YES, I needed to pay attention to my own advice! I left a plate standing in both categories.
Thanks for the tips. Will do just that at next match in Lexington KY.

You will enjoy the Lexington, KY Match! Very nice clubhouse and property to shoot on. Some walking (good exercise) involved if you are so inclined. Stages are spread out a bit.
I have not ever eaten there and not enjoyed the food.
The RO's are always pleasant and knowledgeable. A very smoothly run operation all the way around.

I hate to miss this venue again this year as it is a favorite. The match takes place just a hundred miles from the Jeep Jamboree I enjoy doing too. I only get the one Jamboree so I have to miss the Lexington match.
Jeep event sounds fun! Could you explain which classes am civ vs guardian and which events should I enter if its only my second time competing. I only did the glock 19 in glock the plates, glock-m, and 5 to glock. Glock- was my favorite. My first time out my fastest run on the plates was 6.73 with no misses. I need to trim 3 seconds per run to place at the top so that is going to take some practice. I have a 34,21,17,19,26 to enter with. Thanks
As a member of GSSF you should have received your latest GLOCK REPORT with the rules in it. That is Volume II, 2012.
You can read this online or download it at the www.gssfonline.com site if you like.

Each category describes what gun can be used and age limits if necessary.

We all shoot the same three stages: 5 to GLOCK, the GLOCK "M" and the Plates. But we compete at different levels like the: Am Civ, Guardian, Master thru shooting the same stages. Other levels alow us to mix it up like Competition, Unlimited and others where we all compete together.

Stock guns have to be STOCK with the exception of grip tape and aftermarket sights.
Thanks for all your help. I will take a look at the GSSF publication. Take care!

I'll try to answer any specific questions I can. I'm limited to time right now at work.
