My young 'Offsider' ,sat his firearms safety course today! This was his best target of the day ,. 25 yds! He was quite excited and asked that I post it !
Congrats on your offsider! How old is he and what was he shooting? Just curious.

The Lad is 23 yrs old and is at the bottom of the Down Syndrome spectrum! He only started shooting a couple of weeks ago, when I took him out to our private range. I think his greatest disadvantage his parents ,who kept him wrapped in cotton wool, more importantly ,they (and thank god their starting to realise ) always harp on his 'Disability'! I'd love to say his as normal as I am but that's not a great recommendation🙂 ! To look at him you can see a slight hint of the Down syndrome! The Kid has a mind like a steel trap in a lot of ways but is very naïve! He insisted on using a single shot .22 lr of mine. It's what is called a 'Stirling' I fitted it with a 4x30 weaver scope! I floated the barrel some years ago as a joke! (sorry if this is getting long winded) Now he hasn't been working for me all that long and had his first trip to the range a couple weeks ago! We tried him with iron sights and between us decided that it would take years to teach him as he just couldn't work out the fundamentals of iron sights! As he was a unknown quantity, we decided to start him with a single shot! I remembered the Stirling and it was a match made in heaven! You also have to allow for the fact ,the Kid has 5 'Quazi Grandfathers' fussing over him, all trying to impress their experience in shooting , on him (Of course my methods are far superior to the others 🙄 ) Well anyway he sat through his theory today and as he has trouble reading and writing ,did a oral examination (of which the 3 of us, who turned up to cheer him on were kicked out of the lecture room) He got 99%!!!!! Then it was the practical test heavy emphasis on safety! Then the live fire exercise! The instructor was suitably impressed (once he got over the shock ) of the fact that Robbie refused to even go near the rifle ,until (His words I quote) "Those stupid Old Farts" ,put their hearing protection on! Meaning the 3 of us ! His first target looked like it had been hit with a shotgun! But he'd passed ! He apologised to the instructor and requested another target! He then proceed to shoot the one I posted! 4 sets of jaws (the instructor and ours hit the floor !) He modestly claims he was only warming up on the first target! I reckon he'll be sleeping with it under his pillow!

I'd be lying if, I said I wasn't ! Mind you on saying that, there have been several times out at work ,I could gladly kill him! 😁

That’s SO awesome!!!!
I'm a cynic! I have been for many years! Then something like this happens! I'd really like to see the Kid buy a decent rifle and really excel!

My wife just got home from the range. She sighted in her new 'K' Hornet I built for her! This was her best effort at 150 yds! What can I say ? Happy wife, happy life 🧐

I recently acquired a Sig 238. I’ve always wondered about getting a wallet type holster and pocket carrying.
Midway USA had a special on the DeSantis Pocket Shot holster for $17.10👀!
I carried in my back pocket like a wallet for the last couple of days and went to the range yesterday.
It feels a little awkward but not uncomfortable and shoots great.
7 rounds at 7 yards.

1000 yards with my 6mm arc ar. Was holding to the left about 1 mil to account for wind. Was the last shot of the day

3404, what is that a picture of? What rangefinder are you using? 20 yards different at 1,000 yards is way off. Most of my buddies who shoot F class, 1,000 yards, have spent well over $1,500, and up to $3,000 for an accurate finder.

that is a picture of the ipad that the range provides. Im not using a range finder, since i know the distance if the electronic target all i used was a ballistic calculator to predict the drop at 1000, it got me on target then i adjusted it further from there
So a camera facing the target? This is what I have seen

the range i go to has electronic targets. It was my first time shooting further than 100 yards
So you actually shoot 1,000 yards at a real target? 20 yards means 20 yards off at 1,000 yards is huge.

its at a real target, its a electronic target and has sensors on the target that measures the point the bullet passes through. I dont see where your getting 20 yards off from

20 yards off on a range finder is huge at 1,000 yards. That's why 1,000 yard range finders are so expensive. You can't get that with a $200 ranger.
