Hey guys! I'm pretty new to Glocks and guns in general! First time going to a GS! Looking to pick up my first Glock!

What should I look for in buying a used Glock?

How much should I be looking to spend for a used Glock?

Any help would be awesome! Thanks

Don't pay more than 300
Stay away from anything refinished
Check the chamber and rifling for nice smooth finish and crisp cuts
Look for scratches inside the Bartell from proper cleaning
Check the crown for gouges
Check the breech face burnt in rings
Id choose a gen 3 or 4
Night sights are a plus
I see LE turn ins all day for approx 250-300ish.
Make sure you are buying from a reputable dealer also.

What a coincidence!

Gun Show here in Reno, NV as well, Sat-Sun. Couldn't go today (was teaching a CCW class) but will definitely go tomorrow!

Can't wait!

*TIP* if the gun show is more than a day (meaning 2- ro 3-days), do not buy on the last day, you may find an issue and not be able to take it back, whatever it is you may end up buying. Also, if you have settled on a caliber but for whatever reason do not end up buying the gun, at least buy ammo in the caliber you want.

I didn't find much at this Gun Show! Seems like u have to be building an AR or have a gun collection to benefit from a gun show, at least in CA! All handguns are the same or more than your local gun shop! Although I did find ammo to be much cheaper!

You now, it's strange, but I have been to like 8 or so gun shows a year over here, over the past years, but have only bought 3 guns at the G/S.

Mostly it's reloading stuff, ammo, holsters, range bags, ballistic vests, R/C Helicopters (yeah, go ahead, laugh), AR parts, magazines for whatever firearm, and books or reference materials. Oh, and demilled grenades, I just love 'em!

Heh, over here, no ID check, no fingerprint, no forms to fill out to buy ammo, and no limit to quantities purchased, cash or credit, ATM is out in the hall! :D

This pretty much sums it up! They have targets, but I seem to find them cheaper online! They also have a lot of antiques and pillow vendors! Why pillows? I don't understand it!

building an AR or have a gun collection
My, what a coincidence! I do have a gun collection (when you know how many guns you have, you don't have enough! :D) and I do build ARs, lots of them. I buy stripped receivers as many as 5 or 6 at a time. :D

Thats why I love gunshows! :D:D:D

After this gun show I want to build myself an AR! Doesn't seem cheap to build or shoot for that matter!

Doesnt seem cheap
Over here, at LGS you can get a DPMS M4-profile (non-chrome-anything) 16" no-frills A2 collapsible stock AR-15 for $999 plus Brady plus tax. Depending on who you buy from at a G/S, it can come is as low as $700 for identical specs.

And then let's see.....1 pound of IMR 4198 powder costs $19.99+ tax, and contains 7,000 grains of powder. A pack of 500 Sierra Soft Point 55-grain JSP bullets costs $39.99 plus tax, get 2 boxes for $79.98 plus tax. Each load will need about 19 or so grains of powder, call it 19.5 (DO NOT USE THIS LOADING, I AM ONLY MAKING AN EXAMPLE!!!!!) grains of powder per round, so out of 1 pound of powder we can make 358 loadings, so only buy one box of bullets. WSR (Winchester Small Rifle primers) cost at high retail $3.00 per hundred, plus tax...so 4 boxes is $12.00. The brass you pick up at the firing range. So for a total investment of $71.98 (plus tax) you now have 358 rounds of .223 Remington to shoot thru your brand new AR-15.

I love gunshows!

You said you go to the GS in Reno, NV? I need to go with you LOL! You seem like one of those guys that packs up their truck with GS merchandise! You seem to know what to look for! I went with my friend and it was his first time too, so it was basically the blind leading the blind! LOL!

Hey, JayDeeM:
I need to go with you
how quickly can you get over the pass?

Today (19 Feb) is last day of this G/S (this one is "Crossroads of the West" by the same people that organize the Cow Palace G/S), but the next one ("The Big Reno Gunshow" at the Grand Sierra Hotel/Casino) is in a month or so.

Oh, a word of warning: not all things at our G/S's are CA-legal :p

OK, so I have gone and come back, and I didn't have a stroke drooling over all the wares!

Fun times! Not half as much fun as shooting, but fun just the same. :)
